The Independent Guide to Forest Row
A practical independent village guide for residents and visitors: what is on, where to walk, useful local links, food, shops, community places and carefully checked local places and services.
Forest Row At A Glance
Forest Row sits on the edge of Ashdown Forest with a village centre that mixes food shops, cafes, independent retail, clinics, community spaces, walks and local services. This guide is being built to make those useful parts easier to find, without pretending to be an official tourism or council site.

Use The Guide By Need
This should feel useful before it feels commercial. Start with the kind of local question you have, then drop into individual place details only when they help.
Independent, Useful And Open To Corrections
This is an independent local guide compiled by Grant de Swardt. It is not an official council, chamber or tourism-board website. Listings and local notes are gathered from public sources, local updates and careful checks; corrections are welcome.
Spot something out of date? Send a correction and the guide can be updated. Know a local business, group, walk, event or useful service that should be included? Suggest it for review.
Local Places And Services Being Checked
Individual place cards are one part of the guide, not the whole point of it. The first layer below shows six draft-ready entries from the current Forest Row approval packet. A broader draft layer follows, selected from the 2026-05-19 Master Business Reference and clearly marked as still being checked.
Forest Row Content Drafts
Early blog posts can help the guide become useful before launch, while still making it clear that listings are draft and awaiting confirmation.

The aim is a genuinely useful village guide, so suggestions are not limited to businesses. Local groups, venues, walks, regular events, practical services and corrections all help.
Suggest A Local Place
Know a local business, group, walk, event, venue or useful service that should be included? Use the placeholder page for now. The public form will only be connected after approval.
Send A Correction
Found a wrong phone number, stale opening time, missing venue or unclear detail? Send the correction for review without any sales pressure or ownership-claim framing.
